Canon EOS 1000D / Digital Rebel XS

Canon has announced the EOS 1000D, a new entry-level DSLR that slots into the model lineup beneath the 450D. The 10 megapixel digital camera, known as the Digital Rebel XS in the US, takes many of the new features of its big brother and presents them in a lighter, less expensive format that Canon hopes will re-shape the market in the same way as the first Rebel (300D) did. No word yet from Canon US about their intentions.

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, 10 June 2008: Canon today announces its latest D-SLR, the EOS 1000D. Featuring a 10.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor, 7-point wide area AF system and up to 3fps continuous JPEG shooting until the memory card is full, the EOS 1000D represents a more affordable entry point to the world of EOS cameras – whilst taking full advantage of over 70 years of imaging expertise.

With the lightest body of any digital EOS camera, the EOS 1000D incorporates a range of technologies used in Canon’s professional EOS-1 series cameras, including the DIGIC III im...

Southern Ridges - The Alexander Arch & Henderson Waves

Been a long long time since i went trekking. Decided to try out the new NParks attraction with Limin.
Started the trek at The HortPark near Alexander Arch. The HortPark is a nice place to visit for nature lovers who want to enjoy greenery at their home. I'd like to call it the IKEA for Nature Lovers.

After that we proceed the trek to Vivo City via the Southern Ridges. Lots of wonderful discovery along the way. Also not forgetting the wonderful dinner at White Dog Cafe = )

Spent about 4.5hrs to complete the course.
Will go back to finish the trek from Kent Ridge park to Alexander Arch someday soon.

Anyone game to join

8 Glasses a day to stay healthy???

WASHINGTON (AFP) - - Drinking enough to quench your thirst is sufficient for the body's needs, and there is no evidence to support the common advice to drink eight glasses of water a day, according to a new study.

"Just drink when you are thirsty," was the advice from a study published Thursday in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
Doctors from the University of Pennsylvania said "there is simply a lack of evidence in general" that everyone should drink the recommended 1.5 litres of water a day.

Researchers Dan Negoianu and Stanley Goldfarb had examined the theory that drinking more water helped the kidneys flush more toxins from the body.
"So the question is does drinking more water increase these normal important functions of the kidneys. And the answer is no," Goldfarb told NPR radio.
"In fact, drinking large amounts of water, actually and surprisingly, tends to reduce the ability of the kidney to function as a filter."

Water has also been touted as an id...
